      Lightweight & High-Strength GFRP Rebar, Corrosion-Resistant & Durable

      The GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) rebar is characterized by being lightweight yet high-strength, corrosion and rust resistant, non-conductive and non-magnetic, as well as easy to construct. Its drawbacks include poor impact and shear resistance, low elastic modulus, and high cost.
       
      Compared with traditional steel rebar, GFRP rebar offers superior corrosion resistance, no electromagnetic interference, lighter weight and the convenience of cold cutting, but it comes at a higher price and has a longer service life in harsh environments. In contrast, steel rebar is prone to rust, magnetic, heavy, requires professional tools for processing, and has a lower cost.
       
      Its application scenarios mainly cover coastal and chemical anti-corrosion projects, electromagnetic-sensitive areas such as medical and precision instrument facilities, metro tunnels, and prefabricated components.

      What is GFRP Rebar

      GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) rebar is a composite reinforcement made of alkali-free glass fibers (reinforcement) and epoxy/vinyl ester resin (matrix), formed via specialized processes. Featuring a ribbed or threaded surface, it is a lightweight, corrosion-resistant alternative to traditional steel rebar, with core benefits of high strength, non-magnetism and easy construction.

      Core Production Process (Mainstream: Pultrusion)

      1. Fiber Pretreatment: Dry alkali-free glass fiber yarn and coat with coupling agent to boost resin adhesion.
      2. Resin Impregnation: Pull pretreated fiber bundles through resin bath for full coating.
      3. Pultrusion Molding: Feed resin-impregnated fibers into heated mold; stretch and shape via traction machine until resin cures into ribbed/threaded rebar blanks.
      4. Cutting & Curing: Cut to fixed lengths and cure in a constant-temperature environment for full resin solidification.
      5. Post-treatment: Polish surface, test strength and dimensional accuracy, then package and deliver qualified products.
