FRP Pickling Tank
FRP pickling tanks are special containers made of glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), mainly used for acid storage and reaction in the pickling process in chemical, electroplating, metallurgical and other industries. Its excellent corrosion resistance makes it an ideal substitute for traditional metal pickling tanks and plays an important role in modern industrial production.
GRP pickling tanks are gradually replacing traditional metal pickling equipment with their excellent performance. With the continuous advancement of material technology and manufacturing processes, their application areas will be further expanded, providing important support for the green development of modern industry.

Manufacturing Process of FRP Pickling Tank
FRP large field storage tanks have become the preferred storage equipment in the fields of chemical industry, environmental protection, water treatment, etc. due to their excellent performance characteristics. This type of storage tank made of fiberglass reinforced plastic has the following significant advantages:
Raw Material Preparation
Resin matrix: usually vinyl ester resin or bisphenol A type unsaturated polyester resin with excellent acid resistance.
Reinforcement materials: alkali-free glass fiber mat, glass fiber cloth and chopped fibers.
Auxiliary materials: curing agent, accelerator, color paste, filler, etc.
Mold Making
Steel or FRP molds are made according to the design drawings. The mold surface needs to be finely polished to ensure the smooth inner surface of the finished product.
Molding Process
Mainly adopt hand lay-up molding process or winding molding process:
- Hand lay-up molding: suitable for products with complex shapes and small batches
- Mold surface coating release agent
- Spray or brush gel coat layer (thickness 0.3-0.5mm)
- Lay glass fiber mat/cloth and apply resin
- Repeat the layers to the designed thickness
- Curing and demoulding
- Winding molding: suitable for cylindrical tanks
- Core mold surface treatment
- Fiber impregnated with resin and wound at the designed angle
- Demolding after curing
Post-processing Process
Trim edge burrs
Opening holes and flange installation
Quality inspection (thickness inspection, spark detection, etc.)
Surface polishing or special coating treatment
Special Process Treatmen
For high-concentration pickling environment, the following can be used:
PTFE membrane lining
Add carbon fiber reinforcement layer
Special temperature-resistant layer design
Corrosion Resistance
Can withstand hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid and other strong acids Acid and alkali resistance range: pH 1-14, No rust or scaling after long-term use
Excellent Physical Properties
High strength: tensile strength can reach 200-300MPa, Light weight: only 1/4-1/5 of steel products, Anti-aging: service life can reach more than 15 years.
Good Performance
Smooth inner surface, low friction coefficient, No pollution to the medium, maintain the purity of the acid, Easy maintenance, local damage can be repaired on site.
Safety and environmental protection
No electrochemical corrosion, no secondary pollution, Anti-static design optional, Good flame retardant performance.
Economic Advantage
The overall cost is lower than that of stainless steel products, Low maintenance cost, Saved transportation and installation costs.
Service Life
More than 20 years (in FGD environment)
Selection considerations
Medium characteristics: clarify the type, concentration, and temperature of the acid
Working environment: indoor/outdoor, ambient temperature, whether it is open-air
Structural form: vertical/horizontal, flat bottom/conical bottom, with stirring device
Special requirements: whether insulation, anti-static, flame retardant and other characteristics are required
Specifications: volume, working pressure, pipe position, etc.

Maintenance and care
Regularly check the corrosion of the inner wall
Avoid mechanical impact and scratches from sharp objects
Pay attention to antifreeze in winter (for outdoor installation)
Long Empty the liquid and clean it when it is out of use
Fix leakage in time
