FRP Insulated Pipe
FRP insulated pipe is a composite pipe composed of a glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) outer sheath, a polyurethane foam insulation layer and an inner working pipe. It has high strength, corrosion resistance and excellent thermal insulation performance, and is widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, central heating and other fields.
Main application areas
Municipal engineering: urban central heating and cooling pipelines
Industrial pipelines: corrosive media transportation in the petroleum, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries
Special scenarios: submarine pipelines, frozen soil protection pipelines in high-cold areas

Parameters to be provided for quotation
Working parameters: medium temperature (-50℃~150℃), working pressure (0.6-2.5MPa), pipe diameter (DN50-DN2000).
Structural requirements:
Inner pipe material (optional FRP/steel pipe/PE pipe)
Insulation layer thickness (usually 30-100mm, calculated according to temperature difference)
Outer sheath grade (UV anti-aging, flame retardant, etc.)
Installation environment: burial depth, soil corrosiveness, whether earthquake-resistant design is required.
Features & Advantages
Insulation
The polyurethane foam layer has a low thermal conductivity (≤0.033W/m·K), and the heat loss is only 5%-10% of that of traditional pipes.
Corrosion Resistance
The FRP outer layer is resistant to acid, alkali, salt spray, and soil corrosion, with a service life of more than 30 years, and no cathodic protection is required.
High strength and lightweight
The specific gravity is only 1/4 of that of steel pipes, and the compressive strength is ≥300MPa, which is suitable for high burial depth or overhead scenes.
Waterproof and Sealed
The FRP outer sheath is seamlessly formed, waterproof and moisture-proof, avoiding water ingress and failure of the insulation layer.
Easy installation
Modular design, flexible connection method (flange/socket joint), and construction efficiency is increased by more than 50%.

Production Standard
International standards:
ASTM D3839 (glass fiber reinforced plastic pipe)
EN 14364 (FRP pipe for underground drainage and sewage)
Domestic standards:
GB/T 21238-2016 (glass fiber reinforced plastic sand-filled pipe)
CJ/T 129-2018 (polyurethane prefabricated direct buried insulation pipe)
Production Process
Inner tube molding: FRP inner tube Optional FRP/steel pipe/PE pipe.
Insulation layer foaming: polyurethane high-pressure spray foaming, density ≥60kg/m³.
Outer sheath production: fiber winding + resin curing, anti-penetration test (water pressure 1.5 times the design pressure).
Installation & Maintenance
- Underground installation:
- Sand cushion layer (100-150mm) is laid at the bottom of the trench
- Reserve thermal compensation gap between pipes (calculated according to temperature difference) Sharp stones are prohibited when backfilling
- Overhead installation:
- Use elastic bearings to reduce vibration
- UV protective coating is required for the outer sheath
